Building Project

Having outgrown our old space, we have completed a new and exciting project to serve the present and future needs of the church and the local area (see photos lower down of actual construction).

Our vision was to provide a multifunctional building which will provide improved facilities for ourselves and other community groups.

Below is a slideshow of the photos of the building's progress.

Building Facilities

The new building includes the following facilities:

• A 200+ seat multifunctional auditorium fitted with flexible stage,
   sound, lighting and projection systems
• Large welcome area incorporating reception and kitchen facilities
• First floor meeting/exhibition areas with disabled access
• Parent & baby room with baby changing facilities

Serving the Community

We are now able to serve the community by providing:

  • Improved facilities for existing children's activities and youth work

  • A better home for our thriving Mums & Toddlers group, Sunbeams

  • More space for community groups, e.g. Brownies, WeightWatchers

  • Exhibition/Conference/ Meeting facilities for large and small groups

  • Support for workers from overseas

  • Opportunity for sporting activities, eg badminton, gymnastics

  • Counselling and family advice services

Funding

The total costs for this project exceed £1million.  With donations and pledges from members and friends, we have raised a large amount.  We are applying for funding from various sources, and are hoping to raise more money ourselves.

This is the building we currently use for all our church meetings. The site of the new building is the other side of the car on the right

Work begins

Work began at the end of January 2007.  Our contractors were Marland Brothers Builders from Leyland, who have extensive experience of similar building projects.  Here are some pictures of their progress.
